Device intends to reduce radiation from cell-phone antennas

MANCHESTER, N.H.-CelluSAFE, a safety device intended to reduce the electromagnetic radiation emitted from external cell-phone antennas, is now available across the United States.

CelluSAFE, which is distributed by ACT Venture Opportunities L.L.C. of Manchester, N.H., covers any cell phones’ external antennas to redirect electromagnetic radiation away from the user’s head. A study by the University of Utah’s Department of Electrical Engineering showed CelluSAFE reduces the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) of harmful electromagnetic radiation emitted from cell-phone antennas by up to 96.4 percent.

“Until we know for sure what the long-term effects of cell-phone antenna radiation are, experts have advised that mobile-phone users take precautions. And anything that reduces the amount of radiation entering your head can only be beneficial,” said Gerard Thibodeau of ACT Venture Opportunities.
