HONG KONG-After numerous delays, 3 Hong Kong committed to a commercial third-generation launch date of Jan. 27. It said NEC c616 3G video phones will be available for the service.
3 Hong Kong said 80,000 people have pre-registered for the service, and if those registrants purchase video phones and subscriptions before Feb. 10, they will enjoy a host of exclusive offers.
Pricing plans begin at $34 per month with included voice and video minutes, messaging and data. The NEC handsets are priced at $512 and include accessories such as batteries, charger, headset and USB cable and CD-ROM for PC synchronization.
