ICT Technologies Inc. and its operating company EurophoneUSA Inc. said they will partner with Korean mobile phone design company Uroa Tech to sell a range of wireless devices across the world, including an advanced GPRS device running Microsoft Corp.’s Smartphone operating system. RCR Wireless News first reported the partnership yesterday.
In a release, the companies promised to sell a range of GSM, CDMA and TDMA phones throughout Europe and the Americas. According to the EurophoneUSA Web site, one of the GPRS devices will feature Microsoft’s Smartphone operating system as well as a 1.3-megapixel integrated digital camera and support for MMS services and MP3 files.
Microsoft, ICT and EurophoneUSA were not immediately available to comment on the news.
ICT and its operating company EurophoneUSA said they will offer a variety of GSM devices starting in the first quarter of this year. The companies said design firm Uroa Tech has been developing the phones since October.
“We are excited to be a part of these new product launches,” said Won June Lee, chief marketing officer of Uroa Tech. “We believe that our partnership with ICT Technologies Inc. and EurophoneUSA Inc. shall yield products and ideas that shall redefine the phrase ‘capture the imagination.’ “
EurophoneUSA is a subsidiary of ICT, which is based in New York. ICT also manages a variety of other businesses, including those that sell prepaid services, Internet services, motorcycles and air conditioners.
