LONDON-Vodafone U.K. acquired Generation Telecom Ltd., a subsidiary of Phones International Group, for an undisclosed cash amount. Generation Telecom is a business-focused reseller in the United Kingdom, managing more than 27,000 customers of which nearly 85 percent are connected to Vodafone.
The acquisition is the third such buy of business-focused resellers by Vodafone U.K. in recent months.
“Together with the recent acquisitions of Project Telecom and Singlepoint, this transaction will further increase our direct market share in the corporate and business segments,” said Nick Read, chief commercial officer for Vodafone U.K.
Generation Telecom was formed in 2001.
