Macrospace launches Bluetooth multiplayer game

LONDON-Wireless gaming company Macrospace announced its new “Fatal Force: Earth Assault” Java game, which the company said will support Bluetooth technology and allow users to play against other gaming fans through the short-range wireless technology.

” ‘Fatal Force’ will change many people’s perception of what a mobile game can be,” said Kristian Segerstrale, head of products and services at Macrospace.

Users will also be able to post their high scores on the Internet, thus able to challenge players across the world.

Macrospace’s new game is one of the first to connect Java games with Bluetooth technology, although Nokia Corp.’s N-Gage mobile phone/video game device also supports short-range Bluetooth gaming. Bluetooth adds another level of multiplayer gaming, which some companies have already begun offering over wide area wireless networks.
