EDINBURG, Va.-Rural telecommunications provider and Sprint PCS affiliate Shenandoah Telecommunications Co. said it added 4,100 customers during the fourth quarter of 2003, ending the year with 85,100 wireless subscribers. The company noted a reduction in customer churn from 2.8 percent in the fourth quarter of 2002 to 2 percent last year contributed to the growth.
Total wireless revenues increased $2.8 million year-over-year during the fourth quarter to $18.7 million in 2003, while revenues for the entire year increased $11.5 million to $67 million last year. Net income also increased $5.7 million year-over-year from a loss of $5.4 million in 2002 to a return of $300,000 last year.
