MINNEAPOLIS-TestQuest Inc. this week introduced the latest version of TestQuest Pro Platform testing tool, which it claims is capable of simulating actual human usage of mobile devices and networks.
TestQuest’s TestVerb technology is key to the enhanced testing solution. TestVerb provides the test automation architecture, methodology and script development environment for the development, maintenance and re-use of the automated test solution. Industry-specific test vocabularies and pre-built commands, in addition to defined coding standards and best practices, make it easy to test new and improving wireless devices and technologies on the platform.
TestQuest also announced this week it has closed on a $3.7 million round of funding, bringing private investments in the company to more than $19 million since 1999. TestQuest plans to use the recent financing, bolstered by the enhanced version of TestQuest Pro, to expand its visibility in the wireless industry.
TestQuest’s solutions are used by carriers, including AT&T Wireless Services Inc., T-Mobile USA Inc., and Verizon Wireless, and handset manufacturers, including Motorola, LG, Nokia, Siemens and Samsung. The company sees a significant growth opportunity in the European wireless carrier market, said Martin Hahn, TestQuest’s chief executive officer.
According to TestQuest, most manufacturers and operators use less modern testing solutions including manual testing, company-specific, in-house testing solutions and software test solutions that do not necessarily translate to wireless. “We’ve enjoyed a rather wide open market to date,” said Hahn.
