HELSINKI, Finland-Nokia announced it has been confirmed as the exclusive supplier of T-Mobile’s 3G W-CDMA radio access network in the Netherlands.
Nokia is supplying 3G radio-access equipment, the Nokia NetAct network and service management system, and services including installation, commissioning, integration, project management and care. Deliveries have begun and the network is scheduled to be operational during the second half of this year.
“WCDMA 3G brings real efficiency in delivering capacity-hungry multimedia services at the lowest cost and we believe it will be the main radio access platform when operators invest in their multimedia networks,” said Robin Lindahl, vice president and general manager of the Nokia’s T-Mobile customer business team.
Separately, Nokia announced a joint project with technical publisher Addison-Wesley Professional to publish a mobile developer book series. The series will feature application development guidelines, tools and best practices for mobile developers using Nokia’s software platforms.
