CALGARY, Alberta, Canada-Zi Corp. said it has licensed its eZiText predictive text input technology to Putian Youtong, a subsidiary of China Putian Corp., a leading electronic communications company in China.
Initially, Putian Youtong will embed the product into handsets for the PHS market in China. The company has the option to expand its use of eZiText to future products. The PHS handsets with eZiText are scheduled to be available in the second quarter.
Zi will receive upfront payment for the license and volume-based royalties.
