Panasonic to use Voice Signal speech recognition

WOBURN, Mass.-Voice Signal announced Panasonic Mobile will include its advanced speech-recognition application in its X700 GSM smartphone.

The phone will feature Voice Signal’s Voice-Activated Phonebook, which allows users to dial any person in their contact list by voice, with no initial set-up required. With Voice Signal’s technology, users can also launch any application on the phone by voice.

“Together we hope to make it easier for consumers to use their mobile phones wherever they are,” said Rich Geruson, Voice Signal’s chief executive officer.
