DENVER-Qwest Communications International Inc. said that later this week it will become the first telecommunications service provider to offer customers stand-alone DSL service.
“Customers are telling us that they want greater flexibility when it comes to selecting communications services,” said Richard Notebaert, Qwest’s chairman and chief executive officer. “Stand-alone DSL is part of our larger effort to improve customer satisfaction and to build a solid long-term relationship with customers.”
Qwest will offer Qwest Choice DSL Deluxe with MSN Premium, without Qwest phone service, for $50 per month. Customers can also purchase Quest’s DSL solution for $33 per month and then choose an ISP. The company is also offering $5 discounts to customers that purchase DSL service along with satellite or wireless services.
Shares of Qwest were trading up slightly, at $4.34 per share, following the news.
