POTOMAC, Md.-Wireless software company Airbee Wireless Inc. said it signed nondisclosure agreements with two European companies to work toward implementing its UltraLite Media Access Control software for medical and sensor-based applications.
The company’s agreement with Cambridge Consultants Ltd. may lead to wireless transfer of information between clinic and hospital devices, culminating in the integration of medical monitoring equipment with data repository and management systems, said the company.
Airbee’s agreement with New Leaf Consulting Ltd. allows for continued development of wirelessly connected sensor-based systems for the agriculture industry. The new systems could allow for the wireless transmission of agricultural data, such as soil make-up and moisture content directly from the farm.
“The MAC has been successfully demonstrated to both prospective clients for file and voice transfer functions, and with various hardware devices as inputs and outputs,” said Raj Sundaresan, Airbee’s chief executive officer. “If our discussions are successful, these agreements will result in Airbee’s first penetration into the European market, and will validate the accuracy of our business plan as to the MAC’s agricultural and medical applications.”
