RESTON, Va.-Nextel Communications Inc. and Xora Inc. reported that the City of Chicago has deployed Xora GPS TimeTrack on Nextel’s GPS-enabled handsets in an attempt to enhance field-to-office communications for the city’s Department of Buildings.
The service allows the city’s 175 inspectors to record time- and date-stamped information, including property addresses and inspection status data, that is then immediately available for viewing over the Internet by the department’s 30 supervisors and bureau chiefs.
