NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.-Jazz Semiconductor said it has entered a partnership to manufacture Magnolia Broadband’s chipset known as DiversityPlus with a view to improving coverage and doubling subscriber reach for operators.
“Using this chipset, Magnolia is the first to improve both transmission and reception capabilities in mobile handsets using dual antenna inputs and outputs to create more robust signals through its diversity algorithm processing,” said the companies.
The solution can support multiband CDMA2000 protocols and can extend quality of service for voice and data, said the companies.
Jazz is a spin-off of Conexant and has been in business since March 2002.
