OVERLAND PARK, Kan.-The Salt Lake City Department of Airports awarded Sprint PCS the right to deploy and operate a wireless local area network at the Salt Lake City airport.
Sprint PCS said the Wi-Fi Access network will be deployed in late June and will complement a similar deployment at Kansas City International Airport announced last December. The carrier offers two billing options for the service, including a pay-as-you-go offering for $10 per connection per location for 24 hours of unlimited access or $50 per month for unlimited access.
Sprint PCS originally announced its Wi-Fi intentions last July, including plans to launch the service in 2,100 locations by the end of last year through a combination of Sprint PCS-hosted sites and roaming agreements.
