HOLTSVILLE, N.Y.-Wireless and mobile computing company Symbol Technologies released its new MC9000-K and MC9000-S rugged mobile computers, which the company said feature Microsoft Corp.’s software, Intel Corp.’s chips and support for Wi-Fi as well as GSM/GPRS and/or CDMA wide area networks.
“We have integrated advanced mobile technology to help customers quickly deploy a solution that translates into immediate productivity gains and rapid return-on-investment,” said Chester Pribonic, the company’s vice president and general manager of the mobile computing division. “This complete family of ‘work-horse’ handhelds is designed from a common computing platform and enables Symbol Business Partners to provide a broad array of value-added mobile applications and solutions.”
Separately, Symbol also announced that Coca-Cola Enterprises will deploy Symbol mobile computing products, devices that will support Wi-Fi connections, to 28,000 mobile workers.
