SEATTLE-Venture capital firm eFund L.L.C. announced the launch of its new Mobilopia wireless marketing company, which is the result of a merger among Mynamics Inc., eFund’s portfolio companies Txt Talk and Knowledge Point Solutions, and privately held BoomerangBack L.L.C.
“Mobilopia’s mission is to use state-of-the-art mobile marketing capabilities to help brands deliver compelling, cost-effective, permission-based marketing programs,” said Jim Hood, a Mobilopia executive. “In short, we deliver effectively against the promise of one-to-one marketing.”
Mynamics focused on mobile-phone marketing strategy and creative development; Knowledge Point provided interactive staffing for live chat, short message service messaging and customer service; TxtTalk specialized in mobile-phone campaigns for radio stations; and BoomerangBack offered a proprietary SMS software platform. Hood and Wes Bray of Mynamics will head the new company Mobilopia, which will sell technology and services to brands to conduct wireless campaigns and promotions. The company already counts TV news magazine “Access Hollywood” as a client.
eFund is part of Seattle-based Kirlin Partners venture capital firm, which was founded by Daniel Kranzler. Kranzler, formerly a McCaw Cellular executive, also funds Mforma, a major U.S. wireless content provider. Kranzler said Mobilopia will work alongside Mforma.
