REDWOOD SHORES, Calif.-Wireless e-mail company Visto Corp. said it plans to extend its legal battle with rival Seven Networks Inc. to include four additional patents.
“We believe that Seven has infringed on several of our patents, including our most recently granted one, and we will aggressively pursue any misuse of our intellectual property by Seven or any other companies and individuals,” said Brian Bogosian, the company’s chairman, president and chief executive officer.
Seven said it would fight the litigation and offered a call to the industry to end such patent battles.
Visto is fresh off a major round of $65 million in venture funding. Seven recently announced plans for an initial public offering.
The wireless enterprise space has witnessed several major patent battles, including the ongoing litigation between Research In Motion Ltd. and NTP Inc. However, several cases have been settled out of court.
