MURRAY HILL, N.J.-Lucent Technologies Inc. said it has won a $150 million contract to provide U.S. Cellular with CDMA2000 equipment, software and professional services in the Chicago market.
Lucent said it will upgrade its existing base stations on the network with CDMA2000 1x channel cards and software and provide new Flexent modular cell base stations.
“When the new equipment from Lucent is deployed, U.S. Cellular will have the opportunity and flexibility to offer next-generation mobile high-speed data and voice over IP services, including 1x EV-DO capabilities,” said both companies.
