CINCINNATI-Convergys Corp. announced it has acquired WhisperWire Inc. and Encore Receivable Management Inc.
The acquisition of WhisperWire, a provider of industry-specific sales effectiveness software, will complement Convergys’ Infinys business support system and allow them to offer communications providers a more complete solution to drive their sales processes. The acquisition closed May 3, and no financial details were disclosed.
The company’s acquisition of Encore marks Convergys’ entrance into the accounts receivable management market and will expand its business process outsourcing capabilities. Convergys will pay $68 million for the company, and the transaction is expected to close following regulatory approval.
Convergys also announced it will license its Infinys software to messaging and communications services outsourcer J2 Global Communications. J2 Global will use the software applications for rating and billing, order management and mediation management to enhance its billing capabilities and support new services. The company supplies more than 5 million customers worldwide with its suite of messaging and communications services.
