WASHINGTON-The Ultra-Wideband Forum said it has signed 30 members and is undergoing talks with several major corporate supporters to join.
The forum, which has been caught in a standards battle between the MultiBand-OFDM, direct sequence and other proprietary systems, said members are working on the Common Signaling Mode initiative that will interoperate the various protocols.
“The response to the UWB Forum, and to the CSM proposal, has been overwhelming,” said John Santhoff, chief technology officer and founder of Pules-Link Inc., one of the members. “There is widespread interest from the UWB community in finding an approach that not only allows for multiple solutions, but does so for a truly IP-based environment.”
Coware Inc. is one of the new companies to join the forum.
