ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.-After 96 hours of talking, Kathy Jackson and Trudy Abeyta were both announced as official winners of Cricket Communications Inc.’s Motor Mouth Marathon contest that began at 4 p.m. May 21 in front of a McDonald’s restaurant and was finally ended last Tuesday. Both winners were awarded grand prizes of 2004 Mini Coopers, Cricket phones, a free year of Cricket Unlimited service and $2,500 donations made in their names to the local Albuquerque Ronald McDonald House.
Similar contests held in Nashville, Tenn., and Omaha, Neb., were decided by the end of last weekend.
“Both Trudy and Kathy definitely have the gift of gab,” said Dennis Maguire, Cricket area general manager for New Mexico and southern Arizona. “The Cricket team was proud to sponsor such a fun contest. The community support was incredible, and we’re proud we could donate to such a worthy cause.”
