Ericsson snags GSM expansion contract in China

STOCKHOLM, Sweden-Ericsson signed a $58 million GSM/GPRS expansion contract that includes equipment that supports the latest GPRS and EDGE versions with Jiangsu Mobile Communication Corp. Ericsson will provide infrastructure and services.

The project, which will increase the carrier’s network capacity to 10.91 million lines, is expected to be completed by the end of the year. Jiangsu Mobile has 12 million current subscribers.
