Sweden's Avitec acquires Littlefeet assets

STOCKHOLM, Sweden-Repeater manufacturer Avitec S.E. has acquired the technology assets of Littlefeet Inc., the provider of distributed coverage solutions for wireless carriers that went defunct in March.

Littlefeet “synergizes very well” with Avitec’s existing solutions, said Brian Sagi, chief executive officer of Cerian Technology Ventures L.L.C., which oversaw the transaction. According to Sagi, 20-year-old Avitec now boasts three product categories: repeaters, in-building solutions, and with the acquisition, point-to-multipoint products.

Avitec acquired Littlefeet’s flagship Small Profile Intelligent Coverage Element (SPICE) distributed wireless infrastructure solutions, which can be added to existing networks to deliver better coverage, scalability, wireless backhaul and simplify site acquisition for wireless carriers, Avitec said.

“The Littlefeet technology acquisition augments our portfolio of coverage enhancement technologies,” said Hakan Samuelson, Avitec’s managing director. “Avitec intends to continue offering our customers the finest selection of sophisticated repeaters, designed to solve a broad array of coverage challenges in urban, rural and in-building environments.”

Littlefeet was acquired from Corporate Management Inc., assignee for the benefit of creditors of Littlefeet. Financial terms were not disclosed.
