SEATTLE-The Klickitat, a boat in the Washington State Ferries’ fleet, has been equipped with Wi-Fi service, powered by Port Townsend, Wash.-based Mobilisa Inc., allowing passengers to wirelessly connect to the Internet while onboard, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
By this fall, ships serving three other routes are also expected to be equipped with Wi-Fi service. The service, which is being funded by an $800,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation, will reportedly be available free through the fall when a user fee will be imposed.
