ROCKVILLE, Md.-Airbee Wireless Inc., which develops intelligent software for wireless voice, data and video communications, announced it has opened a new development center in Chennai, India, that will function as its primary global research and development facility.
“Our initial objective was to design, build and implement a scalable and affordable wireless connectivity solution that could operate on multiple platforms,” said Raj Sundaresan, Airbee’s chief executive officer. “Having now achieved that objective we intend to play an integral role in the evolution of the wireless world.”
Airbee’s technology expands the range of wireless data communications to more than a mile, combating limitations of other short-range wireless connectivity solutions like Bluetooth that reach only 30 feet.
The company has committed more than $1 million to the center and plans to employ more than 60 workers there.
