Volantis releases mobile Web tools

GUILDFORD, United Kingdom-Volantis has launched one new product and updated another.

The British mobile technology supplier announced the release of Distributed Service Broker (DSB), a Web tool designed to enable operators to deploy cost-effective solutions for mobile data service delivery. DSB also can be used by content providers to simplify content management and delivery.

Additionally, Volantis released version 3 of its Multi-Channel Server (MCS). The updated version increases developer productivity within mobile content providers and network operators, according to the company, by integrating with the Eclipse Platform.

“Mobile data access is rapidly reaching critical mass-according to recent figures, there are 1.4 billion pages browsed per month in the U.K. alone, double the figure for last year,” said Mark Watson, Volantis’ chief technology officer. “This growth is bigger than SMS.”
