TruePosition supplies E911 solution to rural carrier

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa.-TruePosition will provide its Uplink Time Difference of Arrival wireless location system to Viaero Wireless to meet the Phase II requirements of the Federal Communications Commission’s E911 mandate. Viaero is a third-tier carrier serving Eastern Colorado and Nebraska.

“We selected TruePosition because of their demonstrated market leadership, their location platform and their commitment to meeting the needs of the Tier III carrier. The result is a system that will provide us with the best and most cost-effective combination of performance, reliability and flexibility,” said Larry Aisenbrey, senior vice president of Viaero. “In the rural market, our customers are also our neighbors and friends, so we are committed to provide them with the tools necessary to ensure their safety while providing them access to the latest wireless services available.”

“We have optimized our Finder System to meet the needs of rural operators, and we are delighted to be working with Viaero, one of the most forward-thinking and progressive carriers in the rural market,” said Chris Polito, TruePosition’s vice president of sales.

Since TruePosition’s U-TDOA-based Finder System is a network-based wireless location technology, Viaero is able to offer E911 services to its GSM subscribers without requiring them to replace or modify their current phones.
