STOCKHOLM, Sweden-L.M. Ericsson said it will provide equipment for the second phase of Internet Protocol backbone expansions for China Mobile Communications Corp. The expansion will include all 31 Chinese provinces and autonomous regions.
The value of the deal was not disclosed.
The expansion will improve overall scalability in China Mobile’s network and facilitate more efficient use of bandwidth through multiple protocol label switching traffic engineering, Ericsson said. Implementation will begin immediately and is expected to be completed by the end of October.
