OYSTER BAY, N.Y.-Content developers must carefully target teens for mass-market appeal without forgetting the needs of enterprise, according to a new report from ABI Research.
Applications such as downloading ringtones will continue to increase in popularity among younger users, ABI reports in “Wireless Handset Applications: Consumer and Enterprise Subscribers and Service Revenue.” But enterprise-related content can be even more lucrative, according to Edward Rerisi, vice president of research at the market research firm.
“Despite the attractiveness of the mass market, operators should remember that enterprise customers have deep pockets, and spend a lot of money for crucial business applications,” writes Rerisi.
