SEOUL-Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. said it has shipped an Amorphous Silicon (a-Si) 2.6-inch TFT-LCD with VGA image quality.
The a-Si technology will allow mobile-phone displays to project the same VGA format used on notebook computers and desktop monitors, said the company. The technology provides seven times the resolution of a 42-inch high-definition LCD TV at 200 pixels per inch.
