HONG KONG-Chinese venture Huawei said it partnered with carrier China Motion Telecom to collaborate on a next-generation network to provide cross-border multimedia telecom services to customers in Hong Kong and mainland China. The deal, which includes an initial $5 million investment, will include a network spanning North America as well to support wireless integrated business solutions tailored to third-generation users.
CMT will use Huawei’s U-SYS next-generation network solution to set up a multimedia telecom network spanning North America and China. The network will adopt the advanced SIP telecom agreement to provide more than 10 countries and regions with voice over Internet Protocol, multimedia and cross-network services. It will also support wireless and fixed-line business solutions.
