SHANGHAI-Telecom equipment maker ZTE posted net income of more than $46 million for the third quarter, more than three times its second-quarter figures.
The company’s year-ago net profit was $12.16 million. Its revenue totaled $965 million for the third quarter, compared with $446.7 million in the second quarter.
“As the company’s business grows, ZTE is focused on controlling its costs and expenses,” said the company. “We are starting to see the benefits of economies of scale, with the speed of growth in profits from our core business generally exceeding revenue expansion.’
The Chinese company recently has won several wireless infrastructure contracts around the world.
