Centennial Communications Corp. reported $214.8 million in total revenues for its domestic and international operations during its fourth fiscal quarter ended May 31 of this year compared with $194.8 million last year. The carrier noted its full-year revenues increased from $749.4 million in 2003 to $828.8 million this year.
Centennial’s fourth-quarter revenues from its U.S. wireless operations increased from $91.6 million last year to $93.9 million this year, while full-year revenues increased from $355.6 million in 2003 to $370.2 million this year. Domestic roaming revenues dropped from $16.9 million during the fourth quarter of 2003 to $12.6 million this year, while full-year roaming revenues fell from $77.6 million in 2003 to $54.3 million this year.
Consolidated net income dropped from $58.5 million during the fourth quarter of 2003, or 61 cents per share, to $3.2 million this year, or 3 cents per share. Full-year net losses improved from a loss of $111.6 million in 2003, a loss of $1.17 per share, to a loss of $22.8 million this year, a loss of 23 cents per share.
Domestic net customer additions increased from 1,700 subscribers during the fourth quarter of 2003 to 2,900 subscribers this year, while full-year subscriber growth jumped from no increase during 2003 to 16,500 net customer additions during 2004. Customer churn improved year-over-year during the fourth quarter from 2.2 percent in 2003 to 2.1 percent this year, while full-year customer churn remained steady at 2.3 percent.
Average revenue per user increased from $43 during the fourth quarter of 2003 to $46 this year and from $40 during all of 2003 to $45 this year. The cost to acquire a customer increased during the fourth quarter from $268 in 2003 to $275 this year, and full-year it dropped from $300 in 2003 to $294 in 2004.
