CLEVELAND-Verizon Wireless is the first carrier to offer Univision Movil, a Hispanic-focused mobile content offering that was quietly deployed during the past couple of weeks.
American Greetings Corp.’s AG Interactive will publicly launch Univision Movil at tonight’s Latin Grammys Awards in Los Angeles. Six applications, including games, ring tones, music and messaging, are currently offered through the service.
“The depth and variety of our branded content, along with the No. 1 brands servicing the Hispanic market, make Univision Movil the premier destination for Spanish-speaking wireless users in the U.S.,” said Nick Montes, vice president of marketing for AGmobile. “Presently, according to Forrester Research, 74 percent of the Hispanic demographic in the U.S. currently owns a mobile phone and spends, on average, $10 a month more on mobile services than any other consumer.”
