COLUMBIA, Md.-Tecore Wireless Systems announced its AirCore prepaid platform, a solution that can be implemented on Tecore’s AirCore System Mobile Switching Center to enable operators to offer a GSM wireless family plan with parental controls.
“It provides parents with an easy-to-use single-step process to distribute minutes among family members,” said Casey Joseph, chief technical officer of Tecore. “The minutes can be secured using a personal identification number, which ensures that money cannot be transferred without entering the PIN number, giving parents further control. Additionally, each family member’s phone can be assigned to its own rate plan, which provides the appropriate calling plan assigned by the primary account holder. This is provided without impacting the abilities of the primary account holder’s phone.”
The money-transfer plan eliminates the need for prepaid cards, reducing costs for operators.
Joseph suggested the solution also be used as a group plan for a small business, for departments within an organization or for executives on travel.
