HELSINKI, Finland-Nokia Corp. will stop selling ring tones, games and other content from its Club Nokia Web site.
The world’s largest manufacturer of mobile phones began offering entertainment-themed content through the site in 2000. But the company said the more-mature market has created plenty of options for wireless users, allowing Nokia to focus on other offerings.
“We got into that business early on-our goal was to kind of kick-start the market,” said Nokia spokesman Keith Nowak. “Now there are lots of providers and lots of money being made. We’re able to step back now.”
