LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif.-The OTA Flash Forum has published a “best practices” document addressing interoperability of over-the-air device clients and management servers.
The document describes relevant device management standards, offers recommendations on extensions to improve interoperability support and suggests application programming interfaces to support multi-vendor downloads and to update clients in handsets. It should be presented this week at the GSMA Device Interoperability Group meeting in Singapore.
The OTA Flash Forum also announced several new members, including Discretix, Insignia Solutions, LGE, mi4e device management, Redknee and Synchronica, bringing the total number of participants in the organization to 18.
The group was founded in 2003 by Bitfone, Gemplus, Motorola, Orange and T-Mobile USA.
