Bluetooth-enabled keyboard to complement smart phones

HOUSTON-FrogPad and Gennum Corp. announced the launch of the iFrog portable Bluetooth-enabled keyboard.

The solution is compatible with all PCs and Macs that support the Bluetooth Human Interface Device profile, which defines how a keyboard communicates with another Bluetooth device.

Additionally, iFrog will have drivers for Bluetooth devices that support Pocket PC, Palm OS, Symbian and Windows Mobile smart-phone operating systems. The company expects the keyboard to also eventually have drivers for Java and unified messaging devices.

“This unique and powerful tool will support all portable mobile enterprise applications, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as gaming and personal applications, and will power mobile operators to increase ARPU or revenue per subscriber,” said Linda Marroquin, chief executive officer of FrogPad.

The solution, which costs $225, is now available in the United States, Canada, Western Europe, Japan, Australia and New Zealand and soon in Singapore.
