SAN JOSE, Calif.-Mobile software developer Intellisync Corp. established a mobile carrier organization to target emerging opportunities and build on current carrier relationships, the company announced.
Korak Mitra, who was tabbed as senior vice president of worldwide carrier operations, will lead the organization. Mitra is charged with overseeing the sales of the company’s suite of mobility products, including wireless e-mail, device management and SyncML standards-based applications.
Intellisync recently announced agreements with Verizon Wireless, Canadian carrier Bell Mobility and Czech operator Eurotel Praha.
“Our wireless e-mail and device management solutions are being adopted-or are being reviewed-by many of the largest mobile carriers in the world,” said Woodson Hobbs, Intellisync’s chief executive officer. “We believe mobile carriers are seeking an alternative to the RIM BlackBerry platform for facilitating wireless e-mail and data synchronization over their networks.”
