MIAMI—The CDMA Development Group announced winners of the 3G CDMA Industry Achievement Awards this week at the CDMA Americas Congress taking place in Miami. Among the winners were:
c Wang Jianzhou of China Unicom, who received the industry leadership award for his “dynamic leadership in third-generation CDMA industry activities;”
c KDDI and Reliance Infocomm, which each won an award for international leadership as market leaders in Japan and India, respectively;
c SK Telecom, which won an award for service innovation for launching the first video telephony service over a 1x EV-DO network;
c Sanyo Electric Co. Ltd., which received the subscriber technology innovation award for its Infobar handset;
c Lucent Technologies Inc., which won the network technology innovation award for its role in the development of CDMA2000 standards;
c Comverse, which won an award for innovative solutions for its Multimedia Messaging Service Center and eXtensible Messaging Framework;
c WIZ Technologies, which won innovative application of music or audio for its CrazyTones ring-tone application;
c Jamdat Mobile Inc. and Sprint, which were awarded for innovative mobile game development—Jamdat for its “Bejeweled” and “Bowling 2” multiplayer games and Sprint for the Sprint Game Lobby;
c Lightsurf, which was recognized for innovative use of messaging for its PictureMail picture messaging service;
c Tira Wireless, which received an award for innovative entertainment technology development for its Tira Jump software platform;
c Valkyrie Commissioning Services Inc., which got an award for innovative wireless enterprise solution implementation for implementing a CDMA2000 wireless productivity mobile application solutions;
c Finally, Telefonica Moviles, which was awarded for innovative wireless enterprise solution development for its wireless security applications.
