SUNNYVALE, Calif.-Tropos Networks said it has become a principal member of the WiMax Forum. The company also partnered with WazAlliance to install Wi-Fi service in the Tempe metropolitan area of Arizona.
“We are committed to employing WiMax in our quest to make metro-scale broadband wireless networks faster, lower cost and easier to deploy and use,” said Rin Sege, president and chief executive officer of Tropos Networks.
The Tempe deal is designed to fulfill two goals, “one was to enable visitors, residents and businesses to easily stay connected during the event. The second is to provide a long-term commercialized service for the entire community going forward,” said Mike Nasco, managing director of the WazAlliance.
