Air2Web solution part of wireless polling app

ATLANTA-Wireless permission-based marketing company CLX said it is using Air2Web’s 2Notify solution in its opt-in text messaging application, PollCast.

CLX clients can use PollCast to precisely target its audience and quickly analyze the results, said the company. CLX said more than 20 instant market intelligence polls have been conducted for major retailers, consumer brands and marketing companies with a response rate of more than 70 percent to text-message queries.

“This is one of the most innovative uses of text messaging I have seen in the U.S. market,” said Dale Gonzalez, chief technology officer of Air2Web. “Consumer brand companies and marketing firms have been struggling for some time with how to effectively reach their target markets, especially the youth sector.

“With Opt-In Text Polling, in which the participant gets compensated, a company can target the exact customer they are trying to reach and gain immediate and invaluable feedback from their target market,” said Gonzalez. “So not only do the sponsoring companies get to see how each participant responded to their brands, but they also get a summary of the respondents’ demographics and a confirmation that their text message was received. These are benefits which are harder to derive from TV, radio, print and billboard advertising.”
