LONDON-NEC announced today that O2 U.K. launched the NEC e101, a GPRS-enabled camera phone, on O2’s Pay&Go tariff.
Combining a WAP 2.0 browser and JAVA engine, the e101 offers access to the O2 Active wireless Web service. The clamshell-style e101 offers a second external LCD showing caller ID and can take pictures in four different formats-color, black and white, sepia and bluish.
The phone also has tri-band functionality for O2’s frequent travelers to the United States.
