SAN FRANCISCO-T-Mobile USA Inc. reported its participation with the Wireless Broadband Alliance in a series of roaming agreements with six international wireless operators. The alliance will expand T-Mobile USA’s hot-spot footprint to more than 11,500 locations around the world.
The roaming agreement includes the U.K.-based BT Group, Italy’s Telecom Italia, Malaysia’s Maxis, Japan’s NTT Com, Singapore’s StarHub and Australia’s Telstra. T-Mobile USA added that customers can now access Wi-Fi hot spots in 10 countries-the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Italy, the Czech Republic, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia, as well as the carrier’s own network of more than 5,000 hot spots in the United States.
As part of the roaming agreement, T-Mobile USA said customers will have free access to the international roaming partners through the end of this year with future prices to be determined at a later date.
