HONG KONG-The CDMA Development Group announced the completion of the CDMA Packet Data Roaming Exchange (CRX) specification, which is now available for carriers to implement into their CDMA2000 networks.
The specification covers network interconnection, RADIUS messaging, use of packet data applications while roaming, data exchange between third parties, data clearing and settlement, service scheduling, and service migration for Interstandard CDMA2000/GPRS packet data roaming.
Currently there are more than 127 million CDMA2000 subscribers worldwide, according to the CDG. “These customers have accelerated the use of packet data in their home networks. It is a natural next step to enable these enhanced high-speed packet data applications around the globe,” the group said.<p
