InterOp makes messaging headway with regional carriers

FORT MYERS, Fla.-InterOp Technologies is providing products and services for WAP, short message service and multimedia messaging service delivery for eight U.S. mobile carriers, the company announced Tuesday.

InterOp said it has helped the following operators go live with wireless data services: Advantage Cellular in Tennessee; Bluegrass Cellular in Kentucky; Cellcom in Wisconsin; Cellular One of Amarillo, Texas; Corr Wireless in Alabama and Tennessee; Eloqui Wireless in Tennessee; Illinois Valley Cellular; and Public Service Cellular in Georgia. Additionally, the company said it has 44 premium SMS, WAP gateway and MMS contracts with 27 U.S. carriers.

“Since we build our own core products,” said InterOp President John Dwyer, “carriers have direct access to development. This is key for carriers looking for a competitive edge. Unlike our competitors, who are just too big to care or are selling service on third-party platforms, we provide our customers with direct access to the source so they get what they want, when they need it.”
