BEIJING-Nokia Corp. and Siemens AG announced GSM network contract awards in China Tuesday, both with separate divisions of China Mobile Communications Corp.
Nokia said it signed a $200 million contract with Henan Mobile for a phase nine expansion of its GSM network. The deployment, expected to be fully operational in the first half of next year, will increase the operator’s capacity and coverage through the Henan province.
Siemens said it won a $60 million contract with Anhui Mobile to expand its GSM and GPRS mobile network in the province of Anhui. The deployment should be commercially available as early as January, Siemens said.
