LONDON-Telecom and information technology company LogicaCMG announced Wednesday that it has been chosen by Telefonica Moviles Espana to supply a messaging and applications platform for the Spanish carrier.
LogicaCMG’s platform will support instant messaging, including chat and presence features, creating an open platform for future messaging offerings. The product will use software from Colibria Communities, a Norwegian mobile messaging developer.
“Mobile communities and instant-messaging services have enjoyed great success on the desktop for both business and personal use, becoming a core communication tool for many,” said Alvaro Plaza, LogicaCMG’s director of telecoms business in Iberia. “We view this as an important step in our relation with Telefonica Moviles, with whom we share 10 years of messaging success.”
