Internet entrepreneur Don Murray said he is selling the Internet domain name Freephones.com, and expects to collect a hefty six-figure price for the site.
“Freephones.com has already received numerous offers from private companies. With the offers coming in the way the are, we are confident that we may break a record for a cellular domain name,” Murray said.
Murray said million of users are searching for mobile phones on Google, MSN and Yahoo!, and that his site already gets thousands of hits each month. Murray said the site would be suitable for companies selling prepaid services, disposable mobile phone market or youth-oriented services.
Freephones.com currently offers links to a variety of phone and service vendors.
